biography
Starting out as a runner in a leading London agency, my career quickly progressed to the design studio and then on as a record sleeve designer for Island Records. It was there that I became involved in marketing and my ability to articulate and create stylized visual concepts led me to be employed by Sony Music as Artist Development Manager. I created many critically acclaimed advertising campaigns and commissioned ground breaking music videos most notably for Terence Trent D’arby, Cypress Hill, Flowered Up, The Clash and Def Jam Recordings. This continuing success enabled my career progression as Creative Director of Warner Music.
My experience and talent for art direction led to even further success with a myriad of international music artists and after consecutive spells at EMI and Universal, I set up my own independent advertising agency, Solar Creative, in London’s Soho district in the early 2000’s. It was here that I began to work with Destiny’s Child and Lauryn Hill as art director and I was fortunate enough to win a CAD (Creative & Design) award for my conceptual work on Lauryn Hill's 5 x Grammy winning 'Miseducation of Lauryn Hill' for Sony Music. After 8 years of running the agency, and 20 years in the music industry I decided it was time to devote my ability fully time to my personal love, photography.
I have natural ability to translate concepts into stunning imagery, from initial roughs, visuals and mood boards, through to art direction and completion of the approved idea. As a professional photographer, I shoot commercial imagery, fashion, portraiture, lifestyle and events. I have an acute eye for detail.
